Based on comprehensive statistics, a total of 1,180 microbial fertilizers were registered in China in 2023. Among these registrations, a significant majority consisted of microbial inoculants. Notably, Bacillus subtilis registered products held a prominent advantage in terms of numbers, indicating their prevalence in the registered microbial fertilizers.
In China, the regulatory requirements for fertilizers differ based on the specific product type. To provide insights to industry professionals, our team at CIRS has prepared an overview of the regulatory status for various fertilizer products in China. This summary aims to serve as a reference guide for people working in the fertilizer industry.
Based on statistical data, 772 chemical fertilizers were newly registered in China in 2023. Among these registrations, the predominant types of fertilizers were water-soluble fertilizers containing amino acids, water-soluble fertilizers containing humic acids, and organic water-soluble fertilizers. In order to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the registered chemical fertilizers in China during 2023, we have diligently organized the data from various perspectives. Our aim is to assist fertilizer companies in gaining valuable insights into the landscape of registered chemical fertilizers in China.
On May 7, 2023, the second meeting of the 10th Fertilizer Registration and Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (China MARA) was held in Beijing. The meeting was divided into a chemical fertilizer group and a microbial fertilizer group for review. A total of 26 members attended the meeting, who reviewed 270 fertilizer products, discussed the relevant issues related to fertilizer registration management in China, and put forward opinions and suggestions on strengthening fertilizer management work. The meeting also contained the latest fertilizer registration and review statistics and new regulatory policies for fertilizer registration policies in China.
Fertilizers are regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and the Secretariat of Fertilizer Registration Review Committee in China.
