There is a diverse range of cosmetic packaging materials, such as glass, metal, plastic, and soft paper packaging. As the last process in the modern cosmetics industry, packaging is necessary to keep the contents clean and safe. However, it is also important to make sure the packaging itself does not pollute the cosmetics or add any unsafe factors to the contents. In addition, consumers’ understanding and judgment of cosmetics products often relies on the information provided on the products and by the sellers, the display of such information, to a large extent, determines consumers’ purchasing decisions and use methods for products.
To strengthen the management of cosmetics and safeguard the people’s health, five ingredients, including o-aminophenol, m-Phenylenediamine HCl, m-Phenylenediamine, Catechol, Pyrogallol were added into the list of prohibited ingredients for cosmetics, according to the revised draft on the Cosmetic Safety Standards and Other Related Provisions released by the South Ministry Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). According to Article 8 of the Cosmetics Law, MFDS shall regularly conduct hazard assessment on the hair dye ingredients and results show that the above five hair dye ingredients are likely to have genotoxic hazards.
CIRS Group Korea was issued a license for Cosmetic Responsible Sales Business on February 27th 2019. As obtaining a Cosmetic Responsible Seller is mandatory for exportation of cosmetics to Korea, overseas cosmetic companies will be able to export cosmetics through CIRS Group Korea. The seminar on How to cope with Chinese Cross-border E-commerce Tax Reform for K-Beauty scheduled on 19 July was jointly held by CIRS (Chemical Inspection &Regulation Service Limited) and CAFA24, Korea’s largest e-commerce platform. In the meanwhile, the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between CIRS and CAFE24 was signed in Seoul Centre Hall, capital of South Korea.
