China's MEE is Collecting Public Opinions on the Technical Specification for Nomenclature of Chemicals for Environmental Management

On May 5, 2023, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) issued the Notice on Collecting Public Opinions on the Technical Specification for Nomenclature of Chemicals for Environmental Management (Draft for Comments). This Technical Specification is compiled to standardize the nomenclature of chemicals for environmental management, to regulate the environmental management registration of new chemical substances and the management of the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China (IECSC), and the environmental risk assessment and control of chemicals.

This is the first time a Technical Standard, which regulates the nomenclature of chemical substances for environmental management, has been published. It is applicable to the environmental management registration of new chemical substances, the management of IECSC, and the environmental risk assessment and regulation of chemical substances. Details can be obtained in the annexes below.
