China MEE Released the List of Ozone Depleting Substances subject to Import and Export Control

Recently, China MEE has released the List of Ozone Depleting Substances subject to Import and Export Control (hereinafter referred to as List). HFCs are also included in the List. In the future, quota shall be applied for the HFCs.

Under the requirements of the Measures for the Import and Export Control of Ozone Depleting Substances, from the 1st of November 2021, enterprises that involves in the operation of substances listed in the List must apply for an import/export certificate before they go through the customs clearances procedures.

Background

In order to better fulfill the obligations under Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer as well as its amendments, China MEE has prepared the List of Ozone Depleting Substances subject to Import and Export Control based upon the Measures for the Control of Ozone Depleting Substances as well as the Measures for the Import and Export Control of Ozone Depleting Substances.
