In order to strengthen the casual inspection and monitoring of key food varieties, CFDA issued a Work Program on Food and Health Food Special Casual Inspection and Monitoring (hereinafter referred to as the Work Program) on 2 April 2018. Relevant information is as follows:
1. Varieties of Sampling Food
The casual inspection food covers 3 categories, including health food, plant protein beverage and convenience food.
1.1 Health food covers 6 sample categories, including samples with function of weight control, assisting blood sugar reduction, sleep improvement, alleviating physical fatigue/enhancing immune, assisting blood pressure reduction, and assisting blood lipids reduction.
1.2 Plant Protein Beverage involves soy milk beverage, peanut milk beverage and so on.
1.3 Convenience Food involves instant noodles, flour flavoured product and so on.

CFDA issued 2018 Food Safety Casual Inspection Plan on 8 January, 2018. The
plan covers 33 food categories, including health food, infant formula food and
so on, and contains work tasks and inspection time plan of FDA. Soon
afterwards, CFDA issued Implementation Rules
on Food Safety Supervision and Casual Inspection (2018 version) on 24
January, 2018. The implementation rules formulate uniform requirements for
supervision and casual inspection scope of application, sampling categories,
based on test, sampling, inspection requirements, judging principle and
conclusion. Thus it can be seen that the Work Program is specific
implementation of 2018 Food Safety Casual
