China’s CFSA Collects Public Comment on One New Food Raw Material

On July 16, 2024, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) issued a new food raw material, Camellia petelotii Culture, for public comment. Comments are welcome until August 15, 2024. Details are as follows:

Brief description of the production process

Prepared through tissue culture, collection, drying, crushing, and other processes using the leaves of Camellia petelotii (Merrill) Sealy as raw material.

Recommended intake

≤ 1.5 g/day

Other information

(1) The labels and instructions shall bear a statement indicating that it should not be consumed by infants, pregnant women and lactating women, along with information on the unsuitable population and consumption limits;

(2) See the Appendix for specifications and food safety indicators.
