China Published GB 7718-2025, GB 28050-2025 and Food Labeling Measures

Recently, the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation have jointly issued an announcement regarding the General Standard for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods (GB 7718-2025) and 50 other national food safety standards, along with nine amendments (Announcement No. 2 of 2025).

Among them, two newly revised food labeling standards have been introduced:

GB 7718: General Standard for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods

GB 28050: General Standard for Nutrition Labeling of Prepackaged Foods

Additionally, the State Administration for Market Regulation has released the Food Labeling Supervision and Administration Measures.

All three regulations will take effect on March 16, 2027, marking significant changes in food labeling practices.
