National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of China published an official Notice regarding the approval for chemical additives usage in food contact materials (FCM) and new food contact materials for public consultation in China on August 8th, 2014.
According to the Notice, 9 chemical substances are approved to be used as food contact additives, but the scope of usage is strictly limited to certain types. There are 5 resins approved to be used as food contact materials. The public consultation will last till September 15th, 2014. Stakeholders can make comments or communicate with authority during this time.
